Back in 1990 while serving in the Air Force, I had the privilege of serving a one year remote tour at King Salmon Air Force Base. It's a small base located near the airport in King Salmon Alaska, roughly 250 miles south east of Anchorage. Back then I hadn't done much backpacking, so I never really explored the surrounding town and there weren't too many cars there so you did lots of walking. Well what follows is a photo gallery of some of the places that I happened across.
