On the morning of July 28, 2001 I loaded up my 1969 Firebird, including an extra 5 gallons of gas...just in case, and headed the 120 miles or so to Tioga Pass. The trail starts on the east side of Tioga Pass. There is a parking lot on the west side but it's small and was already full, so this is where I parked...saved me 50 yards of walking!
