The date was set for October 26, 2002; the destination was a 5 mile adventure to Dingleberry Lake. I loaded the car with backpacking gear and enough tools to fix anything that may happen to the hot rod and headed 250 miles east.

After a good night sleep at Sierra Mel's (many thanks!) we drove to the trailhead and waited for the stragglers to show up. You know who you are!
