Located in Lassen Volcanic National Park in Northern California, Lassen Peak used to stand at over 11,000'. That all changed in May of 1914 when the world's largest plug dome volcano erupted. Now at 10,457', Lassen Peak is quieter now and makes for a perfect afternoon 2½ mile day hike to it's summit.
