After a quarter of a mile we reach the Gibbs Lake Trailhead. We navigate through the narrow passage beside the gate closure and begin to climb. The trail heads toward Mount Gibbs, up Gibbs Canyon and follows Gibbs Creek, gaining approximately 1600′ in a little over 3 miles.
Mr. Gibbs must have been a very popular man.
