Mount Lewis

Having done the day hike route to Mount Dana twice before, I knew what to expect from the first 2 miles of the trail. The trail is pretty tough with a day pack, but we had gear for a four day adventure. I wasn’t doing too well.

We weren’t into our journey but a quarter mile, or 600′ of elevation gain, when I started feeling sick. It was then we decided another change of plans was in order. Abort our Dana/Gibbs summit and head cross country to Mono Pass.

Off we went…led by the Spirit.
